Featuring local Michigan roustabout Ragnar Kvaran on guitar, Stooge Scott Asheton on drums, his sister Kathy (who's previous recorded musical efforts seem mostly limited to an impossible to find Kvaran cassette) on bass and vocals, and Tony Whipple (a resume mostly of studio engineering) on drums...this motley assortment delivers a strong, palpable pair of tunes, all muscle, no extraneous bullshit, just...smart.
Both songs are propelled by Kathy's head-turning vocals, narratively all-knowing, all lithe and graceful and sonorant, something shockingly absent from approximately 95% of singing that seems to cross our desk. Why have we not heard from her before?!?!?!
As a hyper-limited local Detroit-area release originally unveiled for Record Store Day 2020, Third Man has secured a VERY limited supply for dissemination here. The total pressing quantity is 250 copies on white vinyl and we don't even half of that to share here. These will be gone in a heartbeat.
